Getting to lake McConaughy:

I-76 east to I-80 (Nebraska) east to Ogallala. Make a left after the exit onto Route 26 through Ogallala north to RT 61 east and making a right (Follow the Lake MAC sign) then continue north. After a couple miles you will see the water conservation and parks building on your right. Stop there to get a vehicle pass. Then, continue over the DAM. After crossing R.R. tracks continue straight onto Route 92 west to sandy beach access road #4 ( about 3 miles)  and make a left crossing railroad tracks. Continue to pay booth and pay then make a left at the next road.

follow that until you come to Lone Eagle Camp Ground on the right. There are sites there to camp or you can camp primitive on the beach. Access road to the beach directly on the east side of camp ground (you will see an outhouse at the road marking the dirt road to beach). The kite camps will be located just below that road and you will be able to see me from that camp ground and I will be set up Saturday morning you see my green Subaru and a flag. See you there!
